It's always something...................

Good morning all!

We had a small crisis here yesterday morning - that completely resolved itself by the end of the day - nothing I can speak about - but since all's well that ends well - I don't NEED to!

In addition to the above crisis - last night,  the mirror that rests on my mantel decided it didn't like being there anymore -
seriously - it lunged over the mantel to it's death..............rather than just stay put AND it  missed me by a quarter of an inch

I was moving these chairs to the front door to deliver them to April's today and had just moved the last one.
OMG - I don't know what I would have done - really - can you imagine if I would have had to start over?
think I would rather have had it slice half my nose off ( which is too big anyway ) than have to start over on the chairs.

So another 7 years ?
Sigh..............

Have a good Tuesday all  :)

  1. You're the second person I've heard of in a relatively short amount of time who lost a mantle mirror. Big thumbs down to it. I'm glad no one/nothing was hurt.

  2. I hate to think how I would feel if mine came down,it cost a fortune (for me anyway) So pleased it didn't catch you or the chairs. :)

    1. I bought 6 of them - for 8 dollars each LOL - they're huge - and bevelled - it was quite the deal -
so I can easily replace it!!!
      Big hugs,

  4. Geeze Suzan! Glad it didn't hit you or the chairs. Maybe your house is possessed! Get out now! Move to the country! The chairs are gorgeous by the way!

  5. Roseanne Roseannadanna: It just goes to show ya...it's always something! If it's not one thing, it's another!
Hopefully there will be no other close calls for ya. It sucks when you are waiting for the other "mirror to drop." because trouble comes in 3's you know. I'm sure everything will be fine.
The chairs look great BTW. Can't wait to see the fabric for the seats.

  7. 1. You are alright, and still have your sense of humour!
    2. The chairs are fine and don't have to be redone.
    3. You didn't really like that mirror anymore anyway and wanted to change it!

    1. 1) lol - it would take more than a broken mirror to get rid of my sense of humour
( it would take 2 at the very least - 2 broken mirrors would definitely not be funny )
      2) Phew for the chairs - that's all I can say ( that may have put a dent in my sense of humour
      also )
      3) AND I LOVED THAT MIRROR DAMMIT lmho
      Thanks Loretta!

  9. What? You are lucky. I am with Danni on the house possibly being possessed!!
I say run to that little village across the border, where farmhouses galore at cheap prices await. Oh, and you keep freely speak English...yep, that is what I hear.

  12. Hi Suzan!!!!!

I like your nose!!! You always look great!!!

Sometimes I wonder in a day, how many times we come close to being really hurt...Crazy!! Sorry about the mantel not having that beautiful mirror and that it landed and shattered...Just when you were going out. It always seems the way. Put the snowsuits on the kids and you say, "Have fun" and then they look up at you and say, 'I've got to pee.' Like I said, 'Always the way.'

The chairs are gorgeous!! I've always loved that style. I hope you have a great week and try not to get hurt!! We don't want our Suzan in bandages!!

  13. I'm glad you were not hurt! Those chairs are darling. I was trying to decide if the motif was sheave of wheat, a balloon, or something in-between.

Lots of crisis going around. Mine was not as bad as yours because I can speak of it. I hope things turn around for you this week.

  15. Oh my goodness!! I am so glad you weren't hurt. Scary! Also glad your crisis resolved itself. The chairs look great! Will we get to see them all finished? I bet they were a challenge to paint but oh! how pretty they are! :) Have a better rest of the week.

  16. Wow I'm sorry abour your crisis... The great thing is that everything is fixed! The mirror must have been really upset to just jump to its death lol. Good thing your safe and nothing happened to your nose!

  17. Hi Suzan,
OMG what an awful happening. So glad you weren't hurt. The chairs are beautiful. I can appreciate painting those middle spindles. I have been there too.
Oh and I dropped a mirror yesterday. Nothing big like yours, but it was a 10X magnification mirror!! LOL
    Glad your crisis passed too.

  18. Oh no, poor mirror! Can the frame be fixed? In the picture it looks like it broke at the 'seams'. What a shame, but so glad you weren't in the line of fire.
And those chairs...so looking forward to the final reveal! The suspense is killing me!

  19. Well, I'm pretty sure you were days away from changing the mirror anyway. Maybe it knew it. Mirrors don't have the 5 senses, but they might have a sixth one!
I do hope the other crisis wasn't too stressful!

  20. If you had wound up with half a nose, that would have been very Tyrion from Game of Thrones. Here's a bit of, far too late, decorator advice - mirrors and artwork that rests on mantels is ALWAYS secured with a screw and wire. Glad both you and the chairs survived unscathed!

  21. Okay, seriously I'm with you on the dining room chairs - just finished painting, whitewashing, clear waxing, dark waxing, clear waxing again a set of four and swear I will never, ever, never, ever, shoot me if I have to do this again. Plus I hate them. Think I've got YOUR 7 years of bad luck rolled up into this project.

Glad you survived this crisis. Yikes - that's scary. Good thing it didn't happen in the middle of the night. You and John would have thought the world was coming to an end.

    1. Are they the worst to do or what??? lol
AND I only painted them and clear waxed them - BUT there was so much tannin stains on these chairs - that had to keep shellacking them as I went -

  22. My MIL gave me hair like Roseanne one time. She said she was horrified about it.

Mirrors falling and crises are not funny. You need some rest after this dining room make over. The chairs are beautiful and I can't wait for the final reveal with everything in place.

  23. Oh no!! So glad you are o.k.!!
